The Maynard in the Derbyshire Peak District. Newly married couple enjoy the scenery looking over the Hope Valley

a few weddings..

A FEW PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE MAYNARD IN THE DERBYSHIRE PEAK DISTRICT

Weddings at The Maynard are special. That’s because The Maynard is a unique hotel in Grindleford which nestles in the Peak District countryside quite close to Sheffield. I’ve had the privilege of being the wedding photographer at the Maynard many times over the years and have always been impressed by the friendliness, the atmosphere and the gorgeous location.

The location is ideal for so many people as it’s only a fairly short drive from the southern part of Sheffield. It’s also easy for rail travellers because there’s even a tiny station just down the road. The Maynard has lovely gardens and a spectacular view over the Hope Valley. On a summer day the sun is on the garden nearly all day long, although there’s always shade if you want it.

The ballroom is perfect for a medium size wedding and there’s something very special for the bride about being able to get ready whilst looking down over the gardens and across the Peak District countryside.

The feedback from couples about the service, the staff and the food is always very positive. Overall the Maynard is a really lovely place for a wedding, winter or summer.

Here’s a fairly recent wedding that was a particular joy. It was at Bakewell Church and the reception was held at The Maynard:
