Peak District wedding photographer
As a Peak District wedding photographer it was a joy to photograph Bethan and Roy’s wedding.
Bethan grew up in the beautiful and famous Peak District village of Eyam, not far from Sheffield. They held their wedding at Eyam Church and both then walked across the road to a marquee reception at the family home.
A beautiful summer’s day, beautiful surroundings and wonderful, kind people made this a wedding to really remember.
I live close by in Grindleford and was made to feel extremely welcome by Bethan’s family when I first met them all to discuss the wedding photography.
The engagement shoot became more of a family portrait with Bethan and Roy and their two young children as well. That’s fine by me – it was fun!
Getting ready at the family home was exciting and emotional for Bethan. When ready she walked just across the road with her father to the church where a particularly personal ceremony took place.
Back at the house a splendid marquee awaited everyone. The marquee was decorated by the family and particularly by Bethan who worked so hard to make it all very personal.
In keeping with the informal feel of the whole wedding, we didn’t do too many formal group photographs. Most of the photography was informal and more documentary in style. I particularly wanted to share an e-mail that I received afterwards which I think sums it up very nicely:
We are DELIGHTED!!!! You are AMAZING We really feel that you caught the whole event exactly as it was and we all relived every moment through your pictures.
I have to let you know… I had been a little anxious. I seriously thought we might be disappointed, as I just simply didn’t seem to see you taking ANY photo’s except for the more organised ones! I now have to think you are some sort of magician. Not one of us noticed how you managed to move around so swiftly to get all the shots. Your eye for detail is brilliant. We are thoroughly happy with your work! And everyone really liked having you about and chatting with you. AND you inspired little Xavier to take EXCELLENT photos too. The photos are exactly as I was hoping they would be… A job well done I say!
Kindest regards and massive appreciative hugs”.
