A Beautiful Autumn Wedding at The Old Hall Hotel, Buxton

I was delighted to be asked to photograph Frances and Oliver’s autumn wedding at The Old Hall Hotel in Buxton, Derbyshire.  It really was a truly memorable day from start to finish.  As a Derbyshire and Sheffield wedding photographer I am so lucky to have so many wonderful locations nearby and Buxton is a delight.

Fran got ready at her parents’ house just up the hill, whilst the autumn sunshine was looking ever more promising. What a lovely start to the day!

The Church Ceremony…

The wedding ceremony took place at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Buxton, where I met up with the boys awaiting Fran’s arrival.  All the while the weather was getting brighter and brighter and beginning to look quite stunning for mid October.

The church service was warm and moving, with a choir joining Fran to sing, a complete surprise to Oliver who was truly taken aback.

After the ceremony the guests walked over the park to the historic Old Hall Hotel wedding reception. The sun was beautiful in a way so unique to autumn. It really was stunning and that short walk was a joyous part of the day.

The Reception…

After a few drinks at the hotel  the guests strolled over to the wonderful Buxton Pavilion Gardens. We enjoyed family photographs in the still gorgeous mid-October sunshine and then on to have some fun taking some bride and groom portraits.

The Old Hall Hotel always provide a warm welcome. Fran’s dad and Oliver gave two really enjoyable speeches before the meal and then afterwards we were treated to singing and then a speech by one of Fran’s sisters.  And then the double act began! The two best men treated us to some of their wisdom about Oliver!

More guests and then dancing to live music and a disco, just to cap a truly wonderful day!
