A marquee wedding ceremony at Lowfield Farm in the Peak District
Kirrilly and Paul’s gorgeous outdoors and marquee wedding celebration was held at Lowfield Farm at Middleton By Youlgreave. It’s near the market town of Bakewell, south of Sheffield. The drive there seemed like miles down a farm track but on arrival the destination was a little slice of heaven. The location was peaceful and special, with just a few cows and the occasional buzzard breaking the profound quietness.
I’d met Paul’s family quite a few years before. I was the wedding photographer at Paul’s sister Rachel and her husband Joe’s wedding so I was really looking forward to seeing them all again.
A wedding is really all about the people, and Kirrily and Paul’s day was no exception. A kind and warm hearted group of family and friends made for a wonderful day. The whole day was spent outside in the fresh air right up until the call to go in to the marquee to eat.
The weather wasn’t the hottest ever, but it stayed fine throughout and particularly for the ceremony outside. Nothing at all, not even a mobile phone signal, could interrupt the peaceful atmosphere, that is until the friendliest chicken you’ll ever meet decided to join us all!
Drinks, refreshments, games for the children, some group photographs and lots of informal photographs followed. Perfectly timed, the guests were called in to the marquee to enjoy a superb buffet of vegetarian Indian food.
The speeches were great (best men’s speeches can be so funny!). A great fun ceilidh finished off an absolutely wonderful day.
Thank you so much for asking me to be your wedding photographer. It was a real privilege to have been there to record your beautiful day, immersed in that very special place.
Thanks for looking. If you’d like to get in touch about your wedding I’d absolutely love to hear from you!
