Communicating the Beauty of Your Food.

Strawberries with sugar, a photograph taken in the studio by food photographer John Mottershaw. An image demonstrating the use of directional light.

An on-site commercial food photography service for all kinds of food professional. Beautiful food needs to be seen at its appetising best.

The photographs shown here are from food photography commissions whilst others have been taken at weddings and events in the Sheffield and Derbyshire areas. Commissioned photography is undertaken at the client’s own premises and the food carefully created and prepared on-site. By necessity the wedding photographs were taken under strict time constraints.

All however were taken with the same criteria in mind. An artistic vision combined with the technical expertise of an experienced photographer. To really whet the appetite, food photographs must look beautiful, appetising, bright and colourful. They must be technically beyond reproach and the images need to show the care and expertise that have gone into creating the dishes.

Expert post-processing, using a colour calibrated system also plays an essential part.

Photography of Food at Weddings

So much care is put into every aspect of a wedding day,  With a full day’s wedding photography, I always aim to get photographs of at least some of the food and of those other important details. It’s all such a part of the story.
